Swine Flu and viruses

Well were on our way to the flu season and it's hard to avoid the headlines about the dreaded swine flu.

I find it just crazy that some little micro organism can wipe out a human life ... what power!!! And what do they recommend to avoid getting the flu? Stay out of crowd gathering places! Are you kidding Me? That's all humans do is gather together in crowded places. Think about it! Schools are a perfect breeding ground for the virus to spread. All them little kids coughing and sneezing and not covering their mouths. Germs on desks, and playground equipment, and gym accessories ... everything!!!

And grown ups are no better ... what do most of us do? Go to work! Lots of people all crammed together in a little room or building 5 out of 7 days a week! STUPID! And then .. then, on our days off we go to malls, and restaurants, and movie theaters, and church, and shopping. Nothing but gathering ourselves together in masses providing the perfect scenario for viruses to breed and multiply.

I'm guess I'm lucky that I hate being around people. The last thing I want to do is go to town and mingle with 500 other people at Walmart. I think if all of us would just sit our ass home we wouldn't have to worry about this virus on a global scale. I know .. I know, if we all sat at home then the whole economy would collapse. Well ..... is that's so bad? Why not try it? We could use a little 'reset' in our spending habits anyway. I just think if we all just kinda kept to ourselves to raise our family, and got by on a more simpler lifestyle, we would all be a lot better off.

Think about all these yuppies who spend their week flying all over the world on 'business', meanwhile picking up germs from other countries and bringing them back home. Why the hell can't he just have a little farm and grow some food instead? Why can't all of us just mind our own damn business and then the rest of the world will mind their own damn business too? Oh well .. I'm getting off subject.

Anyway .. in closing, I think we (as humans) CREATE the perfect environment for these viruses to thrive. It's human stupidity once again. We've created a world that insists that we fly to other countries, to drive 15,000 miles a year, to live in multimillion person populations. And as long as we live our lives thinking that we have to gather together with hundreds of other people on a daily basis, we will continue to be the perfect breeding grounds for whatever plague lies around the corner. Good luck to all!
