Turkey

What the hell is with eating turkey? Don't you find it strange that the only time we eat turkey is at Thanksgiving? Why is that?? Are we trained ... or programmed to eat turkey only once a year?

What other food do we eat only once a year? I can't think of anything. Do we only eat hamburgers on Memorial Day weekend? NO. Do we only have hot dogs on the 4th of July? NO. Do people only eat fish during lent? NO. Do we eat hard boiled eggs only at Easter? NO. S0 what the hell is it that makes us think we should only eat turkey at Thanksgiving? It's stupid!

Turkey is actually a very economical food to eat, even if it's NOT on sale in November. Where else can you get 15lbs of food for under 15 bucks? Then you have one hell of a filling meal, not to mentions turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, and all kinds of other things to make. I like to take the leftover turkey and vacuum pack it in the freezer and save it for later. Not to mention it's also pretty damn healthy (for meat anyway). It sure beats beef, pork, and whatever is in hot dogs.

I just bought a turkey for 85 cents a pound, and that's not even on sale. Now I encourage you to browse through the meat department next time your shopping and find another meat that comes close to this price. So this weekend I'll be feeding the family with tons of leftovers for next to nothing, meanwhile many of you will be out at Applebees with the family spending 50 bucks or more on just one pathetic meal.

So next time your out to the local grocery store, pick up a damn turkey and cook it 'just for the hell of it'. You'll have a damn good meal and probably save a few bucks in the long run.

Thank you.
