The living wage

Here in North Dakota (Ward county to be exact), they have a chart telling you what the living wage and expenses that a typical family should encounter. After a short examination, I have once again concluded that 1. I'm NOT typical. 2. You guys are all NUTS!!!

Let's take a look at how the 'government' thinks you should live when you are 2 adults, 2 kids. Just like Us.

Food: $676.00/ month. - Are you frickin' kidding Me???? Almost 700 bucks a month in food?? HOLY CRAP .. that's insane!! We spend less than half of that! And for the record, just because I'm eating natural, doesn't mean the WHOLE family is eating rice and oatmeal. Besides, as of a month ago, I ate everything in sight, even THEN, our food bill was NEVER over $300/month. Even when We had Christmas dinner and all the trimmings at our house. And another thing, We eat just as normal as any one of you. Our family has steak, and chicken, and shrimp, and ice cream, and pop, and all the other stuff that you guys eat. I am truly perplexed at how ANY household could spend this much on food each month. Not to mention this year, a huge chunk of our food will be grown on our land. So come this fall, I would guess our food bill will shrink yet again!

Child Care $827/month. - HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! Don't get me started on this topic. That's like $28 bucks a day!!! I wish this total was more like $8270/month!! Let's just say that Our child care is $0.00 and will never increase, and that your nuts to pay a dime more!!

Medical $386/month. - Well I assume that covers the cost of health insurance, and is NOT just the monthly doctor bills. Again, our bill is about 1/2 of that, but then we're not taking pills for every made up disease under the planet also.

Housing $487/month. - I assume housing is all the things needed to keep a house going and NOT the actual house payment. I'm not sure what this category means so I guess I'll not comment on it, other than that it's probably double what it should be.

Transportation $794/month. - Once again, please excuse Me ... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! You've GOT to be kidding Me!!! 800 bucks a month for you cars!!! That's $26/day!!! I'm not sure if I could even begin to talk about this and keep it under a page in itself. In fact, just go read this .

Other $592/month. - And again, I have no idea what this is for. Maybe the Starbucks and bottled water fund. Hard to argue this when I don't know what it is.

Add all that up and you have $3762/month AFTER taxes that you need to live on. Oh my God, this is insane! THIS is what the government deems 'above poverty'??? No wonder all you people think were in a huge economic depression .... your spoiled beyond words!!! I don't think I need to say this, but every single one of you could EASILY live on 1/2 of that, and STILL live a comfortable, well balanced life. Just about all the expenses listed above are double what they need to be for one thing and one thing only ... STUPIDITY! I can't tell you how happy I am that I don't pay taxes to support any government that is this stupid to begin with.

They also say that you need to be making $22.86/hour to make it with a family of four. Again, about double what is really needed to live just fine. How in God's name, the government gets these numbers and deems it accurate is beyond Me.

And again, for those who don't know Me. Our house has a big screen TV, a Playstation, tons of Barbies, endless High School Musical items, and Dora, and Sponge Bob, and all the things that someone would surly accuse Me of depriving My children of. Not to mention just about every 2 weeks We're buying birthday gifts for some party that Our kids just HAS to go to. Yeah, I'd say They got it pretty good.
