Money

Ah yes, more headline news on bankruptcies, this time it's AIG and Lehman brothers.

Money. Why is it such a problem in peoples lives these days? Why doesn't anyone have enough of it? Why do so many people ruin their lives and marriages because of it? Why is it so tough to save some?

These are questions that pass through my head almost everyday. I just don't get it. It's as simple as A-B-C. You need to make MORE than you spend to survive. That's it!!! Nothing special there! The secret of eternal wealth is now in your hands!!

Honestly people, what the hell is the matter with you? If you take in 2 grand a month and are consistently spending 3 grand a month .. you MAY have a problem down the road. I challenge EVERYONE to write down everything you spend money on in one month. I don't care what it is. You buy a candy bar, write it down. You pay the house payment, write it down. Got a hooker while the wife was away, write it down. EVERYTHING!

Now at the end of the month take a look at what you spent. Categorize it, like medical costs, bills, groceries and such. Now if you spent more than you made, then you need to come up with a solution. Where can I cut some spending? There is ALWAYS somewhere! It's either that, or get another job to increase you income. That's the only 2 possible solutions folks, it's that simple.

Actually, you should earn MORE than what you spend on a consistent basis. Let's say you pull in $2500 per month, you really should only be spending about $2000-$2200 each month. You should have a few hundred dollars left of "just in case" money. I like to think of it as a car payment, that's the amount of money you should have left after you subtract all your expenditures. Now this few hundred dollars per month extra comes in handy when you have those months that seem to go overboard on spending each year. How about December and Christmas, or summertime vacations, how about the fridge conking out, or a major car repair? It's no problem when you always have a few hundred bucks left over in savings at the end of each month. And if these things rarely happen, that's even better. You'll build up a savings even faster. Soon you'll have a few hundred in the bank, then a few thousands, before you know it you'll have 10 or 20 thousand in the bank. It's not that hard, just discipline and time.

Then when you get a few grand built up, you can throw some in a CD at your bank and draw double the interest of a savings account, and each year you have it in there you'll get another 100 bucks or so in interest, then that interest starts getting interest and so on. Then when you have a few grand stashed aside and you still have some extra after that, you can start killing off that house payment and paying it off in 1/2 the time saving you another 50 grand in interest.

And another thing .. NO LOANS!! No more God Damn loans. Just the house payment, THAT'S IT! If you can't afford to pay for it, you don't need it! You don't need a car on payments. No you don't!! Don't be a dumbschmit! Cars drop in value faster than my manhood on a cold day. Buy yourself a decent used car for 3-4 grand and be happy. Then when you start saving money each month, down the road, you can have a new car! That goes for TV's, boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, and anything else you want to get a loan for. FORGET IT! Cash or bust people! WAKE UP!

But back to the basic principle. You need to make MORE than what you spend. That's really what it's all about. Solve that problem and you've solved ALL the problems. And I believe it's not how much you make, but what you do with what you got! It don't matter if you make a million bucks a year, you CAN outspend your income! You have to adjust YOUR lifestyle to fit your current income. If you don't pull in 6 grand a month, hey I'm sorry, but maybe you don't need that new car on payments, a good used car will be just fine. Maybe you don't need that 19' ski boat, that 4 wheeler, the flat screen TV's. Get rid of them!! You can have them when and IF you start making more money! Trust me, the toys will still be there to buy when you want them down the road. How about cell phones? Do you need them? Well as hard as it is to believe, just a few short years ago they were all but none existent. And a lot of you are paying over 100 bucks a month for a couple cell phones just so you can look cool and call text someone while rear ending another person at a red light because you weren't paying attention.

Now don't get me wrong, if you making good money and you like toys, HEY, more power to ya. Go get 10 cars, a dozen cell phones, a fleet of boats. Have fun! But I'm talking about the average dink out there who thinks they DESERVE this lifestyle despite the fact that they pull in a whopping $25,0000/ year. Then they live that way a few years and end up filing for bankruptcy because of their stupidity and end up have the rest of us to pay for it. DEADBEATS!!

So get your shit together people, money is not that tough. If you insist on having all them damn things you don't need, then go get another job to pay for it. But better yet, figure out how you can get rid of some STUFF, and start living within the lifestyle that your income shows. AMEN!

Don't forget to grab a broke person and have them spade or neutered! Thank you.
