What the hell's a doula ??

Is it just me or does nobody else know what a doula is??

I just found out what it is from my reluctant wife. The reason She's reluctant is because once I found out what it was, She thought I'd go ranting about how stupid it was. WELL SHE'S RIGHT !!! And here I am pounding at the keyboard.

A doula is some woman who has already given birth who stands by the side of a "about to be mother" as she gives birth and comforts her in her time of need emotionally. She is not a medical person, just some vagina off the street. HOW F-ING STUPID IS THIS ?????? What the hell is there to know ?? PUSH, SCREAM, Repeat !!!

In one of your most private moments you could possibly have in your life, it's not bad enough that a doctor and three nurses are playing with your vagina like an erector set, but now you want another total stranger in their with you to guide you through the birth !!!! No pun intended but "YOU PUSSIES!!!" At least MY wife still has a brain, she says "I'd rather give birth ALONE, then to have yet another stranger in their during my most personal time in my life" Thank you wife, it's nice to know there are at least 2 sane people left in the world.

And besides, isn't being in a hospital with a fully staffed medical field enough assurance that you might be in good hands ?? What the hell is having some stranger off the street going to do for you ? You women are some strange people. How about your FRICKIN' husband ???? Did you possibly think MAYBE, JUST MAYBE He'll be there with you ??? I mean your having HIS KID for Christ sake !! And then there are parents, ever heard of them ?? Yeah, parents, who nurtured you though every damn problem you've had in life !! Do you think maybe THEY might know something about giving birth ?? HELL NO !! I think I'll go to the doula directory in my phone book and make a call like I was hiring a escort service for the night.

I think I just found out what Doula stands for, because it sure as hell don't seem like a real word.
D.O.U.L.A. - Dry outdated uterus lacking attention. That's right !! Some stupid ass mom who's too old to have any kids anymore invented this stupid "career" because she's got nothing better to do. Go knit a damn afghan, you worthless busy body.

Come on people, suck it up a bit. Take a little pain for Christ sakes ! Lean on the PEOPLE YOU KNOW to help you through the tough times, and quit inventing stupid things in life just to PISS ME OFF.
