Proof there is water on Mars !

So is it just me or does anyone think that the idea that we are the ONLY life form out there is an absurd idea??

Science says the earth is over 4 billion years old, the bible says it around 6000 years old. Major discrepancy I'd say. If you divide those numbers out, it's like 1 millionth of a percent. How the hell can there be such a difference. I'll tell you how, because only ONE of them is true.

The bible has never spoken about any other life forms out there other than man, and yet go outside some summer night and look at the universe. And then realize that what your seeing with your naked eye is just a PINPOINT of what is really out there. And then tell me that when the bible refers to heaven, it was really referring to the billions and billions of stars and galaxies and planets out there. No, no .. sorry. I think it's MUCH more likely that back when they wrote the bible, they looked out and really thought they were living in a dome, and heaven was up in that dome, and the earth stood on big pillars to support it. And that the moon was a light. And on, and on, and on.

The more I investigate, the more I see that the bible was written by MAN, to control other MEN. And what they wrote then was "the best they could come up with" for the knowledge that they had. Now that it's thousands of years later, we know so much more, and we can now see that what made sense back then, really makes NO sense at all today. And the only thing keeping religion alive, is the millions of people pumping billions of dollars into con artists and swindlers on television in hopes that there is a magic ending to life. And unfortunately, the loving God that everyone worships, is actually the cause of the more deaths in history than any other cause out there. My God is better than your God, and if you don't like it, I'll pray to my God to give me the strength to kill your people for not believing in my God. Or better yet, I'll smash a plane into your tallest buildings and kill myself and thousands of innocent people, just so I can go have a bunch of virgins in paradise. I can't think of anything lower than a God who promises "pussy" in the afterlife, if I commit suicide for Him.

Come on people, wake up, study up a little bit, and don't be afraid to let go of old fairy tales that are only around because people are to scared to say "What if ?" Like Bill Maher once said. "It's OK to say, I don't know". We don't have all the answers yet, we may never have them. But doesn't it make more sense that religion is a great way to get rich and control people, than it is that some man in the sky is watching your every move and if you mess up, you'll go to an imaginary place with wailing and gnashing of teeth, and fire, and brimstone, and pain and suffering for all eternity. Oh yeah ........ BUT HE LOVES YOU !!! (sorry George Carlin, stole that one from you also. Your just too great of a man not to quote).
