Have you heard about this crap? It's called 'Earth Hour', and it's when we're all supposed to turn off all non essential lights to conserve energy to make a statement about the environment, global warming, blah, blah, blah.
You know what I did when it became our turn to conserve energy? I turned on every damn thing in the house I could find! All lights were on, I had the washer and dryer going at the same time. Coffee maker, TV's, computers, hair dryers, ovens. If I found an empty outlet, I found something to stick into it. Then I went outside and started up everything with a gas engine. Cars, mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, tractors ... I let them all run for a good hour or so ... nice and rich too so it would make lots of sooty exhaust. Then I decided to burn a couple of barrels of garbage .. and I had some old oil I decided to set on fire also. Then I walked around farting as much as I could .... I even had the kids jump on my stomach to make sure I got it all out.
Global warming?? When? Where? It's almost April for God's sake and it's 20 God Damn degrees here!!! I got enough snow to last until the 4th of July!! I think it's global COOLING myself! Get some bleeding heart liberal bastard up on stage and start talking about global cooling .... THEN I might start to believe what they say! Until then, I'm going to continue to burn all my garbage and randomly sit out on my front step spraying aerosol cans into the air as the sun sets. Global warming my ass.
I hate to keep going back to quoting George Carlin, but I can't help it .. the man's a genius. He basically said that all the earth has been through over the past 4 billion years is a HELL-OF-A-LOT worse than what a few million plastic bags and tin cans are doing today. If earth wanted to ... it could shake off the little minute damage that man has done in a matter of no time. It could just shake it off like a bad case of fleas.
I don't think we gotta worry about good old mother earth falling apart ... I think we need to worry about THE PEOPLE falling apart. The earth is fine .... the people are F-ed!!! Amen.

Lol. I think you might under estimate the role that humans have on the climate. What about all the cities which were wood or grass 100 years ago. All the cars that drive around in the world everyday. All the industry etc etc. This might just be little in earth terms, but that little CO2 that we emit in such a short time is enough to disturb that balance. And that can cause a global warming. And global just don''t mean it is everywhere. So at your place it was a cold winter. But you have to look globally, not regional.
TT - Of course there's more to it than my incoherent, rampaging babbling. Remember, you have entered the State Of Les, most things don't make any sense compared to the everyday world. I feel I'm doing My part to help the environment by not showering everyday! If We all gave it 100% like Me .. the world would be a better place!
