Well I just "Google Earthed" the other corn mazes in our area and I KNOW I can do as good or better than what's out there now.
Have I mentioned that in just over 3 weeks from now I'll be DONE WORKING!?!?!? Never to serve "the MAN" again!
So one of the main sources of income will be a corn maze built on about 7 acres next to our house. I need to figure out how to:
1. Till up the land.
2. Plant corn
3. Fertilize
4. Make a maze
5. Customize it with decoration, signs, obstacles ....
Sounds easy??? NOT!
I have NOTHING to till up dirt, plant seeds, or fertilize with but an old tractor and NO attachments. This should be interesting indeed. I plan on spending the winter months reading about and planning the maze, and spending time painting up signs and stuff in the shop so by spring I'll be reading to "make it happen".
Did I mention my nearest competitor is not only moving, but also has invited me down to His place for some friendly advice on how to do this whole operation? With a little wheelin' and dealin' I hope to buy His equiptment and get that headache out of the way.
Then of course there is selling pumpkins, vegetables, and fresh eggs for income too! Income galore I tell you!!! Who says you gotta punch a time clock to make a living? I'll tell ya who ... "Dumbshits, that's who!" (no offense to the dumbshits that I know who DO punch a time clock). HA HA HA
SO ... A few thousand people at 4 bucks a pop, another several hundred bucks in pumpkin sales, a few grand in selling some eggs and veggies. Let's see (carry the one, add the seven) and I think I'll be in the income level of about 15 to 20 grand. Not bad!
Now I know what your thinking! 15 grand!! Are you kidding?? That's pathetic!!!! Well to this I would say 2 things.
1. EAT MY NUTSACK!!
2. This is just MY income, the wife will be doing the 9-5 thing with the health insurance and all that garbage. Not to mention I WON'T have to work for anyone but ME, I never have to leave my property, there will be one less vehicle driving to town everyday, AND all the corn for the maze will heat my house for FREE ALL WINTER LONG!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah .. keep that in mind when your paying your 2-3 hundred dollar a month heating bill next winter. Oh yeah, and His corn maze was over 12 miles from the main highway ... I'm only 1 mile away!!
In closing, this whole idea of quitting my job and doing something crazy may just flop and a year from now I'll be wondering what the hell I'm gonna do now, but you know what, it'll be worth it. Worth taking a chance, worth having some fun, and most of all, worth saying PISS ON NORMAL lifestyles!! So I encourage everyone to go to work tomorrow and tell your boss to "Stick it up His cornhole" and go out and do whatever it is you wanna do. What's the worst that can happen .. you gotta go back to work again????
