Sleep switch

Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a sleep switch inside our body ? Where when you want to catch up on some Z's you just flick a switch and your out until the timer in your brain goes off. Think about the possibilities with this idea.

This would be sooooooo cool. Anytime you got a little bit of spare time, just hit the switch and instantly you get caught up on sleep a little more. And no more laying in bed for hours trying to sleep because you got a big day tomorrow but you just CAN'T sleep. Now you just hit the switch, set the timer and your good to go. You would never feel tired again, unless you refused to sleep that is. You could bank your "sleep hours" during the week so you could stay up all weekend in you wanted.

I guess the more I talk about this, the more I think I'm talking about a robot and not a human. But it would still be pretty cool. I just think about those times when I NEED to get some sleep and I just can't do it. All that wasted time laying in bed NOT sleeping. And all the times I'm tired but I can't sleep because I have stupid crap to do (like work for example).

I always thought sleep was so cool. I mean you sleep from 7 - 10 hours ....... and it seems like seconds !! Imagine laying in bed with your eyes closed AWAKE for 10 hours !! It would seem like 20 hours, but not when your sleeping. You just close your eyes, fall asleep, and BOOM, half a day is magically gone in an instant. Sleep ROCKS.

If we could just have this sleep switch, we could eliminate all the caffeine in world. All that pop, all those energy drinks, all that crap that's pure sugar, caffeine, chemicals. The world would be more healthy, people would be less stupid, birds would sing more, there would be no more wars. O.K. - I'm full of shit (as usual).

Anyway, to all you high tech people out there. Get busy on your spare time and start working on the sleep switch so we can all start feeling better and never have to lay in bed waiting for that magical time when we go from staring at the ceiling, to actual sleep mode.
