*******UPDATE - August 9, 2009**********
As already stated, the Mac-N-Cheese Fest will be August 23, 2009
We will kick off the day at noon, straight up with social hour.
At 1:00, we will have a short fireworks display, and then start the cooking of the Mac-N-Cheese over an open fire.
One other thing we will be doing this year is the "Burning of the Lazy Boy". WTF is that you ask?? Well, I'm sick and tired of this government 'bailing' out every person out there who made a bad mistake. Whatever happened to fixing things yourself??? Whatever happened to living with your mistakes and learning from them?? I'm starting to look at America as a spoiled little lazy brat, who just has to have his way ... OR ELSE!! Soooo, to relieve some frustrations, and to show some cool symolism, I'm going to burn an old Lazy Boy recliner I have as a way of saying ENOUGH!! It won't accomplish squat, but it will sure feel good. Plus setting things on fire is always fun.
-----------
Some changes this year are as follows:
1. We ask that every adult pitch in a buck to help cover the costs of the Festival. Kids and 'Out of State' people are STILL FREE!!
2. We will have a drawing to win some Mac-N-Cheese Fest T-shirts.
3. We ask that this year ... please bring a friend!! If your crazy enough to come to the Mac-N-Cheese Fest for a second year, then you probably have a friend who's weird enough to enjoy the day. This is the only way I'm counting on the MNC Fest growing. And by the way, a "friend" can certainly mean a "family". Just as long as it isn't someone with 12 kids just looking for a free meal!
------------
Other than that, it's the same as last year. Please BYOB if you choose to drink. We will have Kool Aid and stuff for the kids (or adults), but we're not big enough to be buying kegs just yet.
There will also be horse shoe pits and other things set up for fun.
That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks.
