Under North Dakota law, which is to say I'm sure it's the same nationwide, the list of people who receive food stamps is private information. In other words the only people who can find out about who gets food assistance is people like social workers and such.

I think this is a bunch of crap!

It's taxpayers dollars and it should be PUBLIC information.

I propose that every month in the paper you should be able to read all the people in your area who get food assistance. In other words, there should be a listing of all the names and the dollar amount that every family is getting.

You should also be allowed to get on the internet and find out 'how long' any family has been on the food assistance programs. All this should be public AND published information. This information should also apply for anyone getting heat assistance, housing assistance, and on and on. In fact, I imagine that one day a month, the daily newspaper won't even have the 'daily news' in it due to the fact that it will just have page after page of listings of all the deadbeats who are getting government assistance.

This would be useful information to all of us I think. That way we can find out where they live, observe how big their house is, what kind of cars they drive, how many 'big boy toys' they have and help determine, as a taxpaying citizen, IF they are indeed worthy of eating free Doritos and Tombstone pizzas. Not that I would EVER do anything to make them feel 'less' of a citizen mind you! Actually, that's kinda My point. Publicly showing the list of ALL assistant recipients would CERTAINLY detour many of those people to get off of assistance!!

Did you know that if you live in North Dakota with a family of four and no job, the state will pay you $588.00 per month to eat? That sounds like a lot to Me since we watch our pennies ourselves and normally spend around $250.00 per month for food. I would consider it a privilege to be able to spend over DOUBLE what I do on food right now. And how would I go about doing that? GETTING ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE!!!!!! Do ya kinda see the problem folks? If the government is going to pay you MORE than what you normally do on your own ... then what the f#$k is the point of not getting government assistance in the first place.

Which brings Me back to My main point, ALL government assistance needs to be publicly published so ALL THE PEOPLE can see where OUR money is going! After all ... it is OUR money!!! AMEN!!
