Well I made my first trip into town in a month and of course I have a story to go with it.
I really enjoy observing people, or the stupidity of people to be more precise. People always say, "I don't judge people. Only God can judge people." You know what I say? "EAT MY NUTSACK!" I like to think of Myself as God's little helper, and rightly so since I judge people all the time. In fact, if there was ONE job that would get Me to come out of retirement, it would be to go around and observe the stupidity of people. HEY ... you gotta do what your good at, no sense fighting it!!
Anyway .... I took my 5 year old to preschool along with 15 other parents. As the class started, all of the parents headed out for the next 2 hours. I'd say about 10 of them were gone in a heart beat, they didn't even stick around to make sure that their kid was OK to being left with a room full of strangers, that the child didn't have a panic attack once the door was shut, or that they burst into tears from not knowing anyone. They just dropped them off and were on their way. Pathetic parenting to say the least. I'm just glad I didn't bring my gun. Another 5 parents stayed around for about the first 10 minutes and then were gone, and one mother actually stayed almost a half hour before leaving. Of course Her kid was sobbing and scared and didn't want to be there. But in the end, She was off on Her way to leave Her kid behind, knowing that Her child was frightened and nervous.
Let me also just say that I understand about the children having to learn about separation. That mommy and daddy are not always going to be there the whole time in their lives. I get that! I'm just emphasizing that for the most part, THIS day for them (preschool) was their FIRST time at being left with people they don't know! THIS day is very different than the 1st day of third or forth grade!!
I'm just amazed at the parents who can drop their kids off at a drop of a hat with TOTAL STRANGERS and not even look back. It's really sickening. Don't get me wrong, this preschool has been around for over 30 years, and out of the 16 kids, there were about 7 student/teachers. The kids were in good hands, no doubt. This has nothing to do with the class itself. I'm talking about caring enough to stay with your kid for awhile when dumping them off at a strange place ... for the KIDS sake. That if they did panic or whatever, that mom or dad would be right outside the room ... just in case. At least for the first time!!! These are PRE-schoolers! They are NOT used to being in a room with a bunch of strange kids and teachers! This is a brand new experience for them!
It's amazing, you parents can't even hang out for your child's first day of preschool!! This is a BIG DEAL to your child!! What do you gotta do that's SO important?? Get to Starbucks for your frappuccino? Go get your hair done? I swear the only reason most of you have your kids in preschool is not for the kids ... but for YOU!! Just another opportunity to DUMP your kids off so you have NO responsibility in raising them. Much like day cares, just a dump ground for your children so you don't have to take on the responsibility of raising them. I swear if there is a way to get rid of your kids, parents will figure out a way of getting their kids in it!
So I decided to stay there .. the whole 2 hours. Not to watch my child who was doing just fine and having fun, but to observe which parents came back and just when they finally did. I stayed away from the class itself so the kids didn't even know I was there. Eventually, the lady who stayed with Her child at the beginning of class because He was crying came back first, about 20 minutes before class let out. Good for you lady, showing just a hint of compassion for your child. Hopefully you still were able to get your nails done. Another 2 parents trickled in within 10 minutes of the class ending. And I would say by time the class ended, most of the rest of the parents were showing up ... just in time. But as I was leaving, there must have been at least 4 or 5 kids sitting there with their coats on ready to go ... with NO parents to be seen anywhere. I was too pissed to stick around and see how long it took them to actually show up. Maybe they expected their 5 year old to go outside and walk through a parking lot in -15 degree weather and meet them at the SUV so Mommy didn't have to get cold. Or maybe Mommy was just to busy yacking on the cell phone and forgot that their child was anxiously waiting for them. It wouldn't surprise me.
So all in all, parents disgust Me. I REALLY wonder why people even have kids these days. It seems that most parents spend a great deal of time and money to do anything they can think of to get rid of their kids, instead of raising them like a parent should. Once again I can only come to the conclusion that society is getting dumber with each passing day.

Todays RBV: James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed for mankind.
Really??? EVERY animal is tame?? I'm not even going to bother going into the stupidity of this Bible verse.
