Well Christmas is here and gone and I've been sitting around playing with toys with the kids for a day or two. Then I looked at the calendar and realized .. "Holy Crap!", there's only 4 days left until the New Year!!! I gotta get busy!
However, much of my Christmas gifts were all about preparing me for the new year. Let's see if you can get some kind of idea what might be in store for me next year by some of the list of gifts I got.
- a new axe
- a fire starting magnesium strip
- a STATE OF LES flag (custom made)
- 2 oil lamps
- blood pressure monitor
- an AWESOME SHIRT that says "What state are you in?" (custom made, see above)
- a encyclopedia on self reliant living
- 700 rounds of ammo
- 3000 gallons of gasoline for fuel
- a backhoe with attachment for digging an underground compound
OK, OK .. the last 3 items I made up! But the rest were all real. It's only a few days away from changing how life is lived! I gotta admit, I'm a bit nervous and apprehensive about the big year coming up. Can I do it? Will I do it? How long will I do it?
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, stay tuned. I'll be posting my MASSIVE list of 'New Years resolutions' in the next day or so. And there are a few of them that NO ONE knows yet too.
The one thing that helps Me conquer the worries of doing all this is just thinking about going back to work somewhere. All I have to do is close my eyes and think about driving into town, punching a time clock, and working all day for someone else and my worries just fade away. Either I do that .. or just go watch 'Office Space' .. that seems to work too.
On another note, my NEW theme saying for the State Of Les is this ... "What State Are You In?" It's a reminder to ALL of us just what state of mind we're all in everyday. Are we thinking about our jobs, bosses, new cars, and getting another credit card??? OR, are we thinking about what's important ... which is YOU and your family and not being caught up in the 'Yuppyworld' that has become the majority in this great country of ours. Not to mention the saying also hints at the "State Of Les" too, which, of course is a good thing. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. DB!!
Anyway, soon you'll be seeing "What State Are You In?" T-shirts being worn all across the U.S.A. All letterheads will have it on the top, stamps will have the saying on it, billboards, bumper stickers, Nascar logos, even the NASA shuttle will have it printed all over it!!!!

Todays RBV Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
Gold, frankincense, and myrrh ... hmmmmm. I'd keep the gold, but I'd ask for the gift receipt on the frankincense and myrrh.
