Pumpkins

You know what I don't get? Pumpkins.

What the hell is with pumpkins anyway? Everybody buys them, but nobody eats them. It's gotta be the worlds strangest purchase. I mean think about it, what other food item do you buy every single damn year, but never eat it? It seems stupid, don't it? Tons and tons of pumpkins harvested every year and most of them just get thrown away after Halloween with little or no use to them.

I kinda feel sorry for pumpkins myself. Poor guys, sitting there growing all year just to have someone cut holes in it, discard the inside and then throw it away a few weeks later. What did the pumpkin do to deserve this kind of life? The least we can do is eat the damn thing, but nope, we just throw it all away and stick a candle in it for decoration.

Well for the sake of pumpkins, here are a few ideas this year to actually get your moneys worth when you go buy a pumpkin. And NO, you can not go buy a CAN of pumpkin. Use the real stuff.






Homemade pumpkin pie
Pumpkin cake
Pumpkin muffins
Pumpkins cookies
Pumpkin nut bread
Pumpkin bars (with cream cheese frosting) - damn these are goooooood
Pumpkin bread
And don't forget to roast and salt the pumpkin seed. They are great!

So there you go, a list of things to do with your pumpkin insides instead of just throwing them away. This year, let the pumpkin know that you love and care for it enough to eat it.

Yeah, here's a good one. Don't go by what logic tell you. Just listen to what the preacher and the Bible says, no matter how stupid it is. Yup, that's blind faith all right. I'll pass on this notion, thanks anyway.
