The snowball

The American way of life is like a big snowball that we create. I'm sure it's like this all over, but I speak of Americans because that is what I know.

People think they need a job. OK, you go and get a job, but it isn't that simple. To have a job you probably need a car. And not just a car, a dependable car. And if your like a lot of yuppies out there, you need a car that also uplifts your image to show off to your fellow co-workers. Now that car takes money. There's gas, and oil changes, and repairs, and insurance. And how about interest on the loan? I doubt many of you own your car outright, how sad. Most people pay 1000's of dollars in interest before they pay off their car. And might I mention that most people have more than one car? So a big chunk of the reason you got a job (money), is now gone so you can have a car to get to work. SMART THINKING!

And what about the schooling it takes to get many jobs? Think of all the money you dumped into your job and the loans you have to pay for .. all to make money? I wonder how you can make money if your money your making is to pay for the money spent for your job?

And then there is clothes. Most jobs you have to dress nice for (well yuppy jobs anyways). If your a banker, or a Realtor, or such, you need to have nice clothes. And not just nice clothes, you have to have many different outfits so it doesn't look like your wearing the same stuff everyday. And these clothes that you have to buy don't come cheap either. So once again, the reason you got a job (money), is sucked up by your clothing upkeep.

And then there is time. So much time is eaten up at work. Take your typical 8 hour shift. If you count getting ready, driving, taking a lunch, and driving back home your 8 hour day easily becomes 10 or more. So about 1/2 your day is now shot. And considering that you sleep 8 hours, your only left with 4 hours to go. Of course you don't have time to raise your kids, so you put your children in daycare. More money down the drain .. all so you can go out and apparently make money.

And with the stress of the job, you can't always deal with making a nice home cooked meal. So you spend 4 times as much ordering in a pizza or some other food which takes ... you guessed it, more money!! Again I say .. all so you can go out and apparently MAKE money!!

Speaking of kids. Since you don't have time to raise them, you feel guilty about not being a good parent. And to fill this gap, you buy them stuff .. all kinds of stuff. Somehow you feel that all this stuff will fill the void of never raising your own kids, but your kids know better. By the way, all that 'stuff' you buy them takes even more money! Just so you can go out and make money!

And if you want to live the 'good life', and take trips now and then, and live in a nice home, and a nice neighborhood, and have all the toys that the Jone's have, you must work even more!! You make more so you can spend more, so you can make more to spend more! What a snowball we live in.

I purpose, (and have many times) that WORK should be the last thing of importance on our list. So many people think having a career is the top priority in their lives. How sad. When you make that your first goal, then everything else falls down the priority list, like your kids, your spouse, your 'living of your life'!! It's important to note that these snowballs you create are not forced upon you, they are the choice YOU make, even though it seems like you have no choice. YOU DO!!

So let's all go to work today and tell our bosses to "Shove it up His ass!" Let's all stay home, raise our family, grow some food, build a fire, and reset the world to the way it should be. Amen.

I MADE IT!

Depending on when your reading this, I am OFFICIALLY retired, or within a few hours of becoming retired! Either way, life is pretty damn good.

So to my best estimates, Saturday, November 29th, 2008, at about 11:00 AM, I have punched out for the last time! The end of the "typical" lifestyle we all know, and the start of a new adventure.

For those of you who haven't kept up on my madness, I'll give you a short recap!

My theory in life after close observation, is that almost everything we do, from working, to eating, to paying bills, to how we live, to what we think happens after we die ... is generally stupid! WE don't live our lives!! We are PROGRAMMED to live a life that we are TOLD is normal! We are, in essence, little hamsters on a wheel just going through the grind of life. Waking up, pumping ourselves full of Starbucks or Red Bull, just to get enough energy to drive to work and punch in. Then we try and maintain consciousness enough to look like we are a productive member of the work force, all to collect some money now and then to pay for shit that we don't really need. Or better yet, we've been told we have to pay bills on stuff every month that already FREE!

Yeah, the whole cycle of life as we know it, is just absurd in my opinion. And most people think I'm a nutcase to think otherwise. But MOST people are also TO NUMB from their lifestyles to want to change it. Yeah, it's to hard to think about getting off that couch and removing the remote from the clutches of your hands and put down that Big Mac and 44 oz. Coke to try something different.

That's where I come in! I am going to give life a shot on MY OWN TERMS! To "buck the system" just about every single way I can think of. I feel life is short, and I don't have a clue what happens after we die (if anything), so I'll be damned if I'm going to spend it working for someone else just to be disposed of after I'm no longer a productive member of the working society, just so I can sit in my house with my cane and prune juice and wait for the grim reaper to come knocking! How frickin' lame is that ???????

COME ON PEOPLE! Wake up from your lifestyle coma!! Take a chance!! What is the WORST thing that can happen? You fail and have to get a job again? Ohhhhhhh BOO HOO! Piss on you all, I'll prove it can be done. And when it's all said and done, and we take that last breath before we die, at least I can say that I didn't give into the lifestyle of waking up everyday regretting that I had to spend a huge chunk of it, working for "the MAN"!!!!

So, for the 99.9% of you who are going to NOT take a chance on changing how you live, I have this blog. That way, you can at least keep up to date on all your missing! And maybe .... just maybe, someone out there will take a chance one day and try it too.

Now if you'll excuse me, it is my FIRST day of the rest of my new life, and I think I'm going to celebrate it with my wife and kids. See you tomorrow .. you know, tomorrow? The first day of my life where I never have to worry about waking up and going to work!!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Todays RBV: Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.

Healeth all the diseases ??? Uhmmmmm ... hate to say it, but your kinda doing a shitty job!

Why???

Lots of pondering questions lately. Which means my retirement is coming at the perfect time, OR, I gotta lay off the Captain Morgan.

1. Why do we have freezers on when it's freezing outside? Wouldn't it make more sense to put the frozen items outside and unplug the deep freeze?

2. Why do houses have solid roofs on them? Wouldn't it make more sense to have a clear roof instead? That way the sun would heat the home AND provide light during the day in the winter. And in the summer you could have a star filled, moon lit night to go to sleep to.

3. Why are we all paying for water out of the faucet when it available free underground?

4. Can't we get some kind of huge magnifying glass that is focused on something in the middle of the house that intensely heats it up during the day so all night long it radiates heat for free?

5. Why is lamp oil so expensive? How am I going to replace all my lights in my house with oil lamps if the fuel is overpriced?

6. Why are houses built above ground, where all the elements can get to us (wind, cold, heat)? Wouldn't it make more sense to live underground with the (clear roof) idea I talked about earlier?

7. Why do we go buy produce in the grocery store that are filled with chemicals and preservatives and have NO taste in them when we can grow them at home for free?

8. Why did society go from each family living in their own "little powered city" on a farm, to all of us smashed together 20 feet apart in a town like cattle waiting to be slaughtered?

9. Why am I not Amish?

10. And the biggest question of all. How the hell do I make all these questions a reality? Time to hit the library I guess.

Todays RBV: Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I think it's safe to say that if you have a tattoo, or a piercing, your doomed. So next time your in church, take a poll of how many people have pierced ears and let them know that they have defiled the Lord's word and are going to hell. It's a great way to make new friends.

Stupid Is as Stupid Does.

So I'm wondering about life again.

In the past year, I feel pretty damn good about the non-belief in God. I know, to many of you that is offensive, but I promise you if you do some research, you'll probably start to change your ways.

Now I'm delving into this theory that working for "the man" in a dumb idea. Now I gotta admit, it's a bit intimidating. In fact, while I'm starting out this journey, I wouldn't doubt that working for the man is EASIER! But, easier don't exactly make it right either.

Here's what I'm trying to express in word "in a nutshell".

I believe that we are here on earth. I have no idea WHY we are here. I have no idea about ANY higher power out there. I have no idea IF we continue on to another life after we die. In fact, ANY SCIENCE out there would say that we are all living creatures and then we die and that's it. There is just NO PROOF that we continue on ... weather it be with Jesus, Allah, reincarnation, or meet up with Santa Claus. Lots and lots of fables ... but no proof. SO ... with those beliefs in mind, it just seems absurd to go through life working for someone 40, 50 hours a week for 40 years out of our life. I personally think it's a waste of half a life. I really, truly, and honestly believe We do "what we do" because it's just ingrained in our head to do so. We, as people, are in a rut. Were robots, were hamsters on a wheel, were little slaves! Slaves to life!

We enter the world, grow up, educate yourself for 12 or MORE years, just to get smart enough to work for someone all your life! WHAT!!!!! Our entire upbringing we are being groomed to learn to work for the man for a living. Yeah, go to work for someone until your barely able to stand upright anymore without medical devices to help you out. THEN .... you can retire and spend your retirement in a Lazyboy drinking prune juice and popping Geritol. YEAH .... WHAT A LIFE!

You know, we've all looked at how ants live at sometime or another. Either in school, or some PBS special, or maybe an ant farm. They are pathetic little slaves. Work, work, work. When is the last time you seen a ant laying on his back sprawled out over a grain of sand just sitting back soaking up some sunshine???? NEVER! And who's to say were much different than ants?

I guess in closing, I'm doubting God, I'm doubting work, and now I'm wondering just how many MORE things there are to doubt! I'm not intentionally looking for things to slam or anything. I just think there are more things that we do, or rely on, that are just ingrained in my head, and I don't even know about them.

What the hell are we doing here?

Ahhh, the age old question. Just what are we doing here?

I wonder this a lot lately. What is our reason for being here, assuming there is one. Well, I've ruled out God, which in my opinion, was the easy way out for my question. "We're all just here to love one another and to be good people and worship the Lord each and everyday." BULLSHIT!! We are not!! Every single day we know more and more and anything with religion makes less and less sense. Now if you want to go around and love each other and live and peace and harmony, HEY, more power to you! I agree, just don't do it because some magic guy in the sky says so, do it because it's morally right as human nature. NOW ... let's get down to real business!

We live on one of 8 planets in our solar system (sorry Pluto). Our planet is not that big in comparison. Hell, Jupiter has 317 times MORE mass than us! And the sun ... holy crap .. the sun takes up 99.86 of ALL the mass in our entire solar system! And WE think WERE important??? HUH?? Really?? Ha ha, sorry Charlie, you ain't shit!

This sun that is almost all the mass of our solar system is a star (I hope you knew that). This star is one of many stars. How many you ask?? Well let's put it this way, there are over 6 BILLION people on earth, and if we handed out stars evenly to each person .. then each and every person on earth would own over A TRILLION STARS!!!! Let that sink in a bit! A trillion times 6 billion.

So we are orbiting around one star. That's 8 planets, many moons, and several billion people. That's one star out of multi trillions of stars out there. Each and every star having probable planets and moons, each and every planet with the possibility of life.

Now I ask you again .... what the hell are we doing here???? I most HIGHLY recommend you clicking on this link and watching it ........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcBV-cXVWFw . I think you'll be in for a big surprise at just how little we really mean in the scheme of things. Earth is a grain of sand in the universe, and you and me ... well, you and me are just a fraction of a pinpoint on that grain of sand. It's unreal .. totally amazing.

So the next time you have a bad day, or hell, a good day, just stop and think about how much it matters in the big picture .. because it don't. We are all just floating around on a rock, one of trillions and trillions and trillions in the universe, with God knows how many other life forms out there doing the same thing. And when your about to lock the door at night and go to bed, take a moment to look up at the sky and get a peek at just a pinpoint of the universe .. and know that it's probably endless, and ask yourself ... "What the hell are we doing here?"

Todays RBV:

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Ahhhhhhh dammit, and here I had the answer right under my nose the whole time! Silly me.

Midlife Crisis

I like to think I'm in the middle of a mid-life crisis, and I love it. Before this, life was boring. Get up, take a crap, shower, shave, eat, drive to work, work, drive home, eat, sleep. REPEAT !! How flipping boring is that. Now, I challenge everything. I don't let to many things get by without saying "Oh yeah, what about the opposite?? Ever try that way?" It makes life so much more interesting. And I don't really care much about the big things in life that everyone struggles so hard in life to achieve, examples : a good job, a nice car, lots of money, fancy house. Instead I let all the little things in life piss me off, unlike most of you who just let it roll off your back like water on a ducks back. You see .. OPPOSITE. And you know what ? I like opposite, going with the grain is so boring.

I look out everyday and see everybody going about there day all trying to accomplish their little goals that they think are so important and think "Your full of crap!" I mean big deal, you licked your bosses butt at work, got home for supper, got the kids to bible camp, ran around town running errands, blah, blah, blah. I think your all like watching little ants on an ant hill just trying to please some stupid queen.

It's like religion. All my life I just took religion as a "standard rule". It was taught to me, forced upon me all through living at home, it MUST be right. And since it must be right, who am I to question why it makes no sense, never has. I never really "got" religion. It was all faith, everything I didn't get was because of "faith", OR "God works in mysterious ways". I always liked that one. "This makes absolutely NO LOGICAL sense at all, ahhhhhh I forgot "God works in mysterious ways".
Well now that I've wasted half my life talking to a invisible man in thin air (who never answers back), I decided to say "What if". As in, what if it's all bullshit. And you know what, life makes alot more sense to me now. I still don't know what happens when we die, but guess what EITHER DOES YOUR PREACHER. Think about it, how the hell does HE know ??? How does anyone know ?? We're all still alive !! Kinda hard to tell ME what happens when you die if your not dead yet ........ interesting.

So next time your sitting there at a red light, waiting for it to turn green so you can rush and get your kids to T-ball, and then run around town doing all kinds of stupid crap that really don't need to be done. Just take a deep breath, and at least consider having yourself a "mid-life" crisis, question everything normal, and DON'T do what Jesus would do. It's alot of fun, and makes life much more interesting. As the t-shirt says "Normal people scare me."

Todays RBV:

Genesis 17:14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken by covenant.

Well that's just dandy. All people who haven't been "cut", are suppose to be cut off from society. I guess the moral of the story is, circumcised or not, your bound to get cut.

Life Switch

You know what I wish ? I wish we could have a choice if we wanted to be born or not.

I mean the moment the little spermy is knockin' on the egg door, something magical would happen and our inner self would awaken for a moment and we would be asked "Hello, your time is here, would you like to be born into life or not?"

Think about all the work life is. Growing up, 12 or more years of school, getting jobs, finding a career, getting married, having kids, paying bills, and on and on and on. Really .. this is fun ?? I'm just saying wouldn't it be neat if somehow, someway, WE could have a say in the matter ???

I think it's kind of selfish for people to have kids. I mean "good for you", you got what YOU wanted, but who's to say the damn kids wanted to be born. Why don't the little fetus's have any say in this deal ??

Honestly, if you could magically wake up for a moment and have a choice of starting out life in the womb and be born and having some knowledge of what life is, OR saying no and closing your eyes and continue living in a permanent coma with no knowledge of it, which would you choose ?? I gotta tell ya folks, more than a couple days I'd choose the coma. I mean why not, you have no knowledge that your in a coma. You really don't exist. I mean, it sounds a hell of lot easier than all the tasks that "life" involves.

Also, there would be a lot less retard out there pissing me off on a daily basis. You see it's a win-win situation. I like to think of the glass as half full.

So piss on all you people that have kids (including myself), you greedy, selfish, inconsiderate bastards. Have a nice day.

Todays RBV.

Hosea 13:16

Samaria is held guilty, for She has rebelled against her God, they should fall by the sword. Their infants shall be dashed into pieces, and their woman with child ripped open.

My oh my, how pleasant. sliced up babies and ripped opened wombs. I think I'll grab something to eat.
